My daughter and I first came here for lunch a couple of weeks ago. We had bento boxes which were tasty. My daughter’s boyfriend came in town so we decided to dine here on a Friday evening. We ordered several different dishes including teppanyaki, sashimi, and mussels. Everything was fresh and delicious! Cool vibe and our waitress was attentive. Will be back for sure!

I have been to Musashi several times, but this was my first visit with their new menu out! They have added temaki in addition to new maki and hot dishes and an exciting new crispy rice appetizer. The only disappointment is that I cannot eat more in one visit. This time, I tried their negitoro temaki, and of course I knew it would be wonderful because I have tried the negitoro roll that comes with one of their chef samplers. It was amazing!! I also tried their hikari roll - it was a pleasure to see on the menu because I’m a huge fan of hamachi, and even more of a pleasure to eat. I don’t even typically like maki - I’m more of a nigiri purist - and this was beautifully crafted. Their Hokkaido scallop crudo was to die for as well. It was described by staff to be reminiscent of tom kha and I have to agree; if you are a Thai food fan as well as a Japanese cuisine lover, I strongly recommend this dish. The scallops were fresh and flavorful with the perfect texture. I cannot recommend their Wagyu nigiri enough. It’s topped with garlic crisp that perfectly compliments the beef flavor, and the scoring on the Wagyu helps deliver all of the flavor that Musashi’s chefs imbue into their nigiri (everything from that portion of the menu is very well seasoned, NOT just a piece of fish served on a ball of rice). In addition I would recommend the sake flight; I would not have gone for it without the manager, Ari’s, thoughtful suggestion. It’s a very thoughtfully curated flight, and even I, someone who does not typically enjoy sake, have had my mind changed about sake. The food at Musashi is amazing, but what really makes it is the service. I have felt so happy here from the moment I first stepped through the doors. Everyone on staff is incredibly friendly and they always give amazing recommendations. I have never felt I had to wait long for my food - in fact, the longest time I have spent in the restaurant is just over two hours, and I always order a LOT of dishes separate from one another. The fact that it takes so little time to receive such amazing quality dishes is so impressive. This is getting lengthy, but the bottom line is that you need to visit Musashi. I would expect to pay at least double the amount for the same level of quality and attention anywhere else in DFW.

Such an incredible sushi place, the quality is superb. The prices are very affordable, especially with the happy hour prices, and the staff is incredibly sweet and attentive. Every order is a work of art and incredibly delicious. The nigiri and A5 Miyazaki Wagyu are incredible, it's a great place to feel like a regular at. Ari, Minji and Aidan served us and they were all incredibly nice and welcoming. A+ service and food!

I find that a lot of sushi places in the area seem to use the same supplier with rubbery, overly-fishy fish. Musashi is different. You can taste the freshness in their food and the care with which it is put together. Everything is seasoned well, all the way down to the rice!! They fly in tuna straight from Hokkaido and it’s absolutely amazing, especially for the price; it’s $21 for a flight of lean, medium fatty, and fatty tuna. Try it ASAP as I’m sure that deal won’t last forever! And happy hour prices are unbeatable: $7 for nigiri from 4-6, PLUS they have themed nights where the price remains low for unbelievable quality. It’s one thing to have great food but I was also blown away by the service and cleanliness of Musashi. Their social media is what brought me in, and I wasn’t expecting them to be just as welcoming as they seemed online, in person. They’re smiling and greeting you as soon as you come in the doors. The servers I have had make great recommendations and are super attentive. I’m thoroughly impressed by Musashi. They are not new, but the fact that there isn’t a line out the door for this restaurant is appalling. I would recommend it to any fan of Japanese food 100x over. Drive AWAY from The Star next door and come here!

Found out about this place via Tiktok! My boyfriend and I are always down to try a local sushi spot and gave this place to try. We have been to low and highbrow sushi places, and this all around takes the cake for quality ingredients, great flavors, and beautiful presentation. This is a slightly more modern sushi spot that also serves really good cocktails and desserts. The tuna flight was very comparable to some high-end sushi we have tried in the area. The service was really great - younger staff but super sweet and serviceable! Will 100% be back!

Frequently Asked Questions

Bluefin and otoro, happy hour, lunch, reservations and large parties — the things guests ask us most about Musashi Japanese Fusion in Frisco.

Does Musashi serve bluefin tuna?

Yes. Musashi Japanese Fusion in Frisco, TX serves bluefin tuna at its sushi bar. Akami, the lean cut of bluefin, is on the standing menu at $11 for two pieces of nigiri or $15 for three pieces of sashimi. The fattier cuts — chutoro and otoro — are offered as market-price selections that change with what arrives. Fish is flown in regularly, so ask your server or sushi chef which cuts are in that day.

Where can I get otoro and chutoro in Frisco?

Musashi Japanese Fusion, at 4606 Frisco Green Ave Ste 103 in Frisco, TX, serves both otoro (fatty bluefin belly) and chutoro (medium-fatty bluefin) at its sushi bar. Both appear under the Market section of the sushi bar menu — one piece of nigiri or two pieces of sashimi, priced daily and subject to availability, alongside uni (sea urchin) and A5 Miyazaki wagyu. Because these are market cuts rather than standing menu items, calling ahead at (214) 407-7590 is the surest way to confirm otoro is in before you come.

Does Musashi serve A5 Japanese wagyu?

Yes. Musashi Japanese Fusion in Frisco, TX serves A5 Miyazaki wagyu, BMS 12 — the top marbling grade of Japanese beef. It is available three ways: as a market-price nigiri or sashimi selection at the sushi bar, in the Ishiyaki ($52) with yakiniku and brown butter on the dinner menu, and in the Surf N’ Turf roll ($27) with snow crab tempura, asparagus and avocado.

Does Musashi have sushi happy hour?

Yes. Musashi Japanese Fusion runs happy hour Monday through Friday, 4:00–7:00 pm, and it includes sushi rather than drinks alone. Two-piece nigiri is $6 (tuna, yellowtail, salmon, eel, escolar, shrimp, red snapper) and rolls run $6–$7 (California, vegetable, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy yellowtail, Philadelphia, shrimp tempura, eel avocado, rainbow, caterpillar). Small plates are $5 — spicy edamame, wakame salad, Musashi fries, vegetable gyoza, karaage, takoyaki, calamari and bao buns. Drinks are $5 Sapporo draft, $5 house wine and $6 hot sake. See the full happy hour menu.

Is Musashi good for date night?

Yes — Musashi Japanese Fusion is an upscale-casual Japanese restaurant in Frisco, TX built around a shared, unhurried meal, which is what makes it work for a date night. Couples tend to sit at the sushi bar and watch the chefs work, or order one of the chef’s tastings to share: the Moriawase ($79) brings nine pieces of sashimi, six of nigiri and a negitoro roll. Pair it with a sake flight ($25–$36) or a Japanese whisky flight ($20–$47). The room is an elegant but inviting one, and reservations are recommended. Reserve a table for two.

Does Musashi serve lunch?

Yes. Musashi Japanese Fusion serves lunch Monday through Friday, 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. The day menu includes bento boxes at $16–$23 (chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, sukiyaki, katsu or tofu, each with steamed rice, stir-fried vegetables, salad, a California roll and tempura), donburi rice bowls at $16–$19, ramen at $15–$16 including a tonkotsu built on an 18-hour pork bone broth, and sushi and sashimi combinations at $19–$29. See the full lunch menu.

Does Musashi take reservations?

Yes. Musashi Japanese Fusion in Frisco, TX takes reservations online through the booking widget at musashidallas.com or by phone at (214) 407-7590. Reservations are recommended. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability.

Can Musashi accommodate large parties?

Yes. Groups of up to 10 can book directly through the online reservation system. For parties of 11 or more, Musashi Japanese Fusion asks that you submit a party inquiry instead, so the team can arrange seating, timing and a menu suited to the group rather than fitting it into a standard booking.

Does Musashi host corporate or business dinners?

Yes. Musashi Japanese Fusion hosts corporate and business dinners, client entertaining and team celebrations in Frisco, TX. The restaurant’s upscale-casual room, chef’s tasting courses and Japanese sake and whisky list suit a business dinner where the meal needs to hold attention without dominating conversation. For a group booking or a tailored menu, submit a private event inquiry and the team will follow up to plan it.

Does Musashi offer sake and Japanese whisky?

Yes. Musashi Japanese Fusion in Frisco, TX keeps a dedicated Japanese beverage program: 16 sakes, eight of them poured by the glass, by the masu or by the bottle — from Yukikage Snow Shadow junmai through Dassai 39 and Kubota Manju junmai daiginjo — and 10 Japanese whiskies, including Hibiki Harmony, Hakushu 12 Year and Yamazaki 12 Year. Both are also offered as guided flights: three sake flights at $25, $32 and $36, and three whisky flights (Iwai $20, Nikka $35, Suntory $47). See the full drink menu.
